Prep School Sports Day
Despite a bleak outlook on the weather forecast, Sports Day went ahead on Saturday - slightly earlier than scheduled and turned out to be a wonderful occasion. The track events started at 10am with sprint races, endurance events and hurdles all providing excitement and drama across the day. The field events of high jump, long jump, shot and the cricket ball throw were all keenly contested, with leads changing hands many times across the competition. We closed out the day with some fun events, with egg and spoon race, bean bag race and sack race marking an enjoyable end to a fantastic day.
Individual successes were celebrated at the trackside, as Mrs Martin handed out well over a hundred medals on the day. Special mention must go to Martha W, our most decorated athlete on the day with winning performances in seven events! An exceptional performance.
The house competition was tight all day, with just 10 points separating first and second at the close of play. Collingwood was crowned Sports Day champions of 2024, just edging Stephenson into second place.
