Immersive stay highlights global perspective
This week at Mowden Hall, we have had the pleasure of hosting a group from Hunter Christian Classical School in Virginia for a short, immersive stay.
They have fully engaged with our busy school community, taking part in the full week’s timetable, boarding experience and organised events. Pupils even took to the stage earlier this week, as part of our House Singing competition!
During their visit, pupils on an immersive stay have access to:
-
A buddy assigned to assist them at school and in the boarding houses
-
The full boarding experience - evening study sessions, weekend activities and holiday camps
-
Excellent pastoral care and dedicated boarding team
-
Mowden Hall certification and reference on completion of study
The highlight of these immersive stays is always the opportunity for our pupils to understand and appreciate other cultures firsthand. In a world that’s becoming increasingly interconnected, it's more important than ever for our young minds to develop a global perspective.
Through engaging activities, joint lessons and informal interactions, our pupils learned about the nuances of American culture, educational systems and everyday life, reciprocating with an insight into British values and culture. These experiences are invaluable to both sets of pupils, as it helps them to become well-rounded individuals who are open-minded and respectful of differences.
At Mowden Hall School, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming community. The genuine warmth and hospitality shown by our pupils and staff has made our guests feel right at home. From shared meals in the dining hall to collaborative projects in the classroom, every moment was an opportunity to foster friendships and build bridges across cultures.
Having a global perspective isn’t just about understanding different cultures; it’s about preparing our students to thrive in a diverse and dynamic world. By exposing them to international experiences, we equip them with the skills and mindset needed to navigate and contribute to a global society. This week’s visit was a testament to the power of cultural exchange in broadening horizons and creating lasting impressions.
