Mowden Farm Shop?!
Mowden's Gardening Club, established with the aim of educating students about the origins of their food and the art of cultivating and harvesting, has flourished thanks to generous contributions from our Parents' Association. Our school is now home to dedicated gardening spaces, complete with raised beds, a poly tunnel, and a variety of fruit trees. The hard work of our students has paid off, as we now have the pleasure of harvesting ripe pumpkins and apples from our very own garden. There's nothing quite as satisfying as savouring the sweetness of home grown fruit.
The children have been diligently tending to our garden, ensuring that the plants are well-watered and free from weeds, and, of course, relishing the fruits of their labour. We even had some special guests from our school kitchens who came to collect mint and cucumbers, using them to craft a fragrant salad that delighted everyone at our salad bar.
We extend a warm invitation to parents who share our passion for gardening to visit our garden and lend a helping hand with plant care, please get in touch if this is of interest. Your support is greatly appreciated. Who knows, in the future, we might just have our very own farm shop!
