Number Day
Number Day is probably one of the biggest days in the maths calendar for schools although I have to say I do love Pi Day too on 14th March. Since I joined the school, I have wanted to create an increased energy around numbers and maths. Pupils from Nursery to Year 8 took part in decorating a t-shirt on their latest topics which ranged from shape to fractions to algebra. The sea of t-shirts on the day were a sight to behold. In the afternoon, instead of Friday afternoon activities a carousel of number based activities was arranged. This involved a scavenger hunt, a number quiz, decorating Heads of House doors based around a particular number and a special round of Times Tables Rockstars.
The day is supported by the NSPCC, all donations are given to them so they can continue to work closely with some of the most vulnerable young people in society. As a school we have raised nearly £300 so far, please use this link if you would like to make a donation: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mowden-hall-school2?utm_source=copyLink&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=mowden-hall-school2&utm_campaign=pfp-share&utm_term=0a6bd78498b64571b1ff33dba9983b93
