NSEA Championships at Keysoe 2022

Great fun was had by the Equestrian Team at the Schools Riding Championships at Keysoe this last
week (Thursday to Sunday). The team of Martha, Sophie and Frances was collected from their tough
U13 hockey match v Teddington Hall whilst the ponies travelled direct.
As was the case last year we were only a team of 3. NSEA Teams are usually 4 competitor
combinations so there is no room for error as the top 3 scores count. We entered the 80 Show
Jumping and Arena Eventing but it wasn’t our day on the Friday in either of our team classes.
We fared better as individuals with highlights for each being, Frances placed 12th in the 70 Arena
Eventing Class on the Friday, Sophie 14th in the 90 Arena Eventing Class on Saturday and Martha
placed 6th in the 1M Show Jumping Class on Sunday. There were 100 plus competitors in all these
classes so it was great to see a young team achieve these results. Martha had been selected earlier
this month to be part of a 4 competitor team representing the North of England in what is called the
Nations Cup – they (Martha and Pegaz) rode a very quick 80 Show Jumping round which contributed to
a Team 2nd on the Saturday night.
Thanks to all for their continued support of the riding team.
If any pupils are interested in competing in these NSEA events (Dressage, Show Jumping or Arena
Eventing) next season, please contact Sophie Dodds.
