Boarder's “Trashionshow”!
This weekend was all about fashion!
On Saturday evening our boarders were tasked with making an outfit out of recyclable bags and paper. Each group had to design, prepare and make their outfit using only the basic materials provided. One member of the group then had to 'work it' on the catwalk, styling and showcasing their outfit for our very own Mowden “Trashionshow”.
We had outfits inspired by Vikings, flared culottes, tailored blazers, fringe dresses and even outfits with designer branding. The Gappies also created an... original piece! Makeup and hairstyles were also taken into consideration and the following were awarded:
Artistic interpretation
Attention to detail
Best catwalk presence
Overall style
Artistic design
All of our models showed “bags” of confidence (pardon the pun) and a great evening was had. London fashion week, watch out!
Continuing the theme, we took our boarders to the Metro Centre for a few hours of pocket money spending. It has been such a long time since we have been able to do something like this and the excitement was very real! There were some greatly varied purchases, much browsing, and lots of enjoyment.
